Road Trip

Hello Friends and Stampers,

It's a new Challenge Day over at Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog - Anything Goes!  Whoo Hoo!  I thought I would take a road trip with this one, lol.   I feel like I am about due for a trip somewhere but my work schedule and budget says otherwise, lol.   Happy October 1st!  Life has just passed by so quickly this year, hard to believe Halloween is at the end of the month!  I had better get started on more of my witch cards, lol.

Laura has been super busy adding more New Items to the store, so you want to be sure to check that out!  I see some new images just in time for Christmas there.  I think I have told you before how much I love having a great variety of images to choose from, along with other supplies I need.  Right there under one store.  Be sure to check out all the different companies and supplies you can get while you are at it!

Hope you are all having a great week!  I cannot wait to see your projects!

Motorcross Birthday

Hello Friends and Stampers,

Rarely ever will I do a requested card, lol.   I'm really awful that way.  I have to follow the path of the mojo and sometimes when I am asked to do a card, it puts me in a creative block.  However, this time, I was asked to do a birthday card for a guy that really loves Motor cross.  So I went to Google to look up motor cross and I had an Ah-Ha moment.  Yes, indeed, I did have a stamp that would fit this perfectly.   It's called "Extreme Dirt Bike" and it's a retired Stampin Up stamp that I didn't even have mounted....oh yes, I have many of these unmounted, waiting for one day to feel the love and warmth of ink, lol.  I decided to get some Copic Markers out and my airgun and spray a bit of a background.

These were the pictures I found and so they were my muse.  I also used Stampin Up retired Extreme Elements and the sentiment came from the retired set Best Dad Ever.   Oh I know, I hate to see the perfect images I need for something only to find out they are retired!  But sometimes you can find great retired stamps on SplitcoastStampers Buy/Sell.

What you can get still is the Memento Ink, the Copic Markers and the Celebrate Accent Die-Namics I used.   And a whole plethora of fabulous crafts supplies available at Loves Rubberstamps!

Thanks for looking and have a fabulous day!

Too Cute to Spook!

Hello Friends and Stampers,

Welcome to a Happy Holly-Day Friday! Boo-Ya! I survived this week and it was a longggg one! Fortunately for me, so is my weekend! Whoo-hooo. High Five! Okay, enough celebrating, lol. For my Inspirational Post, I have a Tiddly Inks Image Called Too Cute To Spook.

Yes, tis the season of witches and let me tell you, I have a few of them, lol. I love cute little witches, they make me so happy. Have you been to the Home Page of the Loves Rubberstamps Store? Look who's featured, It's Tiddly Inks! A whole brand new supply has reached the doors and you are going to have such a hard time picking out which ones you want. Not only are they adorable, they also are a lot of fun to color and just the perfect size for most card designs. LOVE them! I was jumping for joy to see them added.

I don't know what it is, but I am loving the purple dresses, green faces, black hat and straw hair this year, lol. I still have some Chillingsworth paper from last year and I was excited to see one in the store so I could use it on this card. If you missed out on this paper last year, hurry - hurry, before it's all gone!

So this weekend I want to spend one day getting inky and one day watching football! lol. Wish me luck! I just celebrated with the 49er's finally finding their groove. Should be an interesting season now. lol. How about that Gore rushing all those yards! He is my hero! And for those of you not watching football, take advantage of the all day Sundays! lol. Plenty of time for those big projects you have been wanting to do. So don't forget the 12X12 papers too!
Thanks for Looking in on us and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Chicks dig bow ties

Hello Friends and Stampers,

It's time for a new Loves Rubberstamps Blog Challenge - Fall Colors.  When I saw this challenge I thought about these papers right away.  So I dug them out and low and behold, I had never opened them, lol.   I do love them though and this page in particular is so perfect for the background of fall.  If you did not pick these up from last year, lucky for you there is still one or two left in the Store.  Click on the link above to take you directly to the paper.  This is an exciting challenge because we are being sponsored by Kenny K and the Design Team would like to thank Kenny K for the images they provided for us.   So not only will the winning prize get a store voucher, but also some fabulous Kenny K images!  That's an incentive to play huh?

I love this image, it reminds me of my Hottie.  Not that he wears a suit and bow tie, lol,  or that he would ever wear a bow tie because chicks dig it, lol, but just the look of the face and the glasses.  Kind of a Clark Kent Superman look about him.  I have been thinking about this Skyline Border die since I first bought it, lol.  That was a while ago. lol.  Every time I was thinking about using it with a stamp, someone in blog land had already done that.  I think I will go ahead and use it anyway, lol.  I love being able to put the two dies together to create lighting and some dimension.

Laura has added a lot of Kenny K in rubber version to the store!  So if you love the look but not into digi, you are in luck!    You also don't want to miss out on the other NEW ITEMS that she has added.

I hope you will join us in this challenge, I cannot wait to see what you create!

Witching Shopping Trip

Hello Friend and Stampers,

Here is my Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration for you today.

Happy Holly-Day Friday!  Whoo Hoo, what's everyone doing this weekend?  I'm off work with the guys this weekend.  We are going to the fair tomorrow!!!  Yeah.   That means wristbands and watching them go around and around and around while we stand in the blistering heat for 5 hours, taking pictures, lol.  Once they have done that, we are usually too tired for the exhibit booths and the animals, lol.   But it's the fair and the kids have fun.

I kinda got peer pressured into putting away the summer paper for a while, lol.  Don't worry, it's going too far for too long, lol.   I have not seen very much in the way of paper that I like this fall and winter season.  Some are cute but look so darn close to what I have that I have decided to buckle down and not jump until I see something I love.  Lucky for me and for you, there is still some of this fabulous Halloween paper in the Store from last year. And I have enough of it to last me through the Halloween season, lol.   I have purposefully avoided the LSS so that I do not buy any more paper for a while.  I have over 100 6X6 paper pads!  Isn't that awful?!  And I have given a few away but honestly, I have plans for the rest, lol.  So they stay.  I like this particular paper because it's all witch adds and Halloween designs.  My Candi dots were originally black and white, but white didn't look very good on this, so I got out my E43 and colored the words, now they fit in perfectly.  So my little Bewitching Witch is out shopping for her new Cauldron, all in high fashion, lol.

I am following the MFT's weekly sketch.  Instead of adding a sentiment and word banner, I used the one in the paper and stamped a sentiment on there.  Part of the shopping motif, lol.

And as you can see, my circle got much bigger, lol.

Laura has been adding all kinds of New Items to the store and it's hard to keep up on what she adding, lol.  But that won't stop me from trying my best, lol.  I do love it all and she does spoil me by adding the MFT items.  Don't forget to check on the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog  tomorrow for our weekly Video Tutorial by Indah, they are fabulous!  And you'll want to check in on Sunday too for the Design Team Blog Hop where you could win just for commenting!  This weeks Loves Rubberstamps Challenge is a 1,2,3 Challenge - Check HERE for the details.

Reed continues to work away at catching up in school.  He has made a few really exciting milestones and discovered that he is recognising some words and is able to read most of the material in front of him for his grade level.  We are taking things in steps.  He can do math in his head better than I can and he excels on that, so we are doing a lot of reading, writing and then we will focus more on Spelling.  His teacher is awesome and the daycare instructor is such a blessing, she gets him started on some of his homework.   So we are the little engine that could saying, "I think I can, I think I can..." lol.

1, 2, 3, Challenge!

Hello Friends and Stampers!

Sorry my post today is a bit late, blogger was not exactly cooperative last night for me.  It was not letting me add pictures!  Grrrr.  Even now I had to kind of baby it along by adding one picture at a time, lol.   But they seem to have posted, so I am going to run with it now, lol.

We have a different challenge for you over at Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog:

This week's challenge is: 1, 2, 3
Have 1 Image, 2 Designer Papers & 3 Embellishments!

Okay I know I have more than three embellishments, lol.   I just can never stick to the rules, lol.  I love these Prima Dolls and Tags I got over at Loves Rubberstamps.  I think I am going to have to pace myself, because all I want to do is create a bunch of tags with these dolls!   I'm also not quite ready to give up on the summer colors either, I love this Paper Pack!  There are so many different combinations of papers in it that work so well together.

This has been a very hectic week, sliding into the weekend.  I am glad I have a catch up day around here.  I volunteered to work an over time day but the Census Gods had other plans, so I bow to them and thank them for the much needed rest, lol.   I'm definitely going to be making a card today, and getting around to comment on every ones blog today.  I can't imagine a more perfect day!

The Design Team would like to thank The Paper Shelter for sponsoring us this week as well as for the fabulous images they provided us.

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments!

P.S.  - You will want to go see what's NEW in the store this week, Laura has added a lot of fabulous stamps!!!

My First Steampunk

Hello Friends and Stampers,

Sorry I am getting this posted a little late today, I have been wanting to take another picture of this card before I uploaded it.  This is what the original picture looked like:

For some reason, the camera took on the light greenish Hughes and ran amok with it, lol.   So I wanted to take a picture in the natural daylight and then upload.

Today is the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog day and we are looking for a sentiment.  Your project must have a sentiment on there somewhere.  Even if it's just one word.   This was a challenge for me, lol.  I usually reserve the inside of the card for the sentiment.  And what actually ended up happening was I saw this adorable Victorian Goth Girl and had all kinds of Mojo going on and just let my creative side take over.   I had to google "steampunk" lol.  The Urban Dictionary says,

Steampunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction, usually set in an anachronistic Victorian or quasi-Victorian alternate history setting. It could be described by the slogan "What the past would look like if the future had happened sooner." It includes fiction with science fiction, fantasy or horror themes.
Victorian Steampunk: A modern Science Fiction work (post-1930s) that is set in the early parts of the industrial revolution.

So I found some paper that I thought was suited best for Victorian, I knew I wanted to use the time pieces gears and the fabulous La La Balloon.  So I had it all done and the colors the way I wanted and I had worked late into the night.  The next morning it suddenly dawns on me that I had no idea what the Challenge was, lol.   I went to look it up and thought, "Oh Man!"  I had no where for the sentiment, but then the more I looked at the left hand side, the more I realized that that was exactly what I needed!  lol.  So I like it.  The camera didn't capture all the subtle colors from the distress inks but that is okay.  My first steam punk card done!

I hope you had a chance to Blog Hop on the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog, Laura is giving away a $20.00 voucher to the store just for commenting!  Awesome!  Plus you will see some amazing designs by some of our Design Team members and our New Members!    I just took a quick peek and Laura has added more yummy stamps to the store, go look in the NEW ITEMS section.

I hope you have a fabulous day and I cannot wait to see your sentiments!

Let's Do Lunch

Best Glue Ever
X-Press It Paper

Hello Friends And Stampers!

Happy Holly-Day!  Even though I had a shorter work week, it was a busy one and I am looking forward to this weekend off!  And I am so ready to "Let's Do Lunch"!  lol.   Here is my Holly-Day Inspiration for today. I love this cute little P.I. Called - on a picnic.  The links to the store are just under the picture.  I stamped the image on the yellow paper, then stamped it again on the blue/green paper and then stamped it again on the X-Press it Paper, all in Memento Black Ink.  Then I colored with my Copics and fussy cut the images out.  I cannot get enough of this Echo Park Paper, I just love the colors and the cute designs.  I think I might use this one up completely! lol.  The Toy Box Candi pieces are so easy to use and I love the cute design on them.

Wait til you see ALL the NEW LISTINGS of MFT's Laura added to the store!!!! I'm so excited!!!! And yes, I ordered.  lol.  I ordered twice!   And there is plenty more on my wish list since she has all the newly released items on there as well as some newer ones and some retired ones.    She has added quite a few things,  Some Odd Girls, CC Designs, The Greeting Farm, Saturated Canary, and don't forget about those new Prima Dolls!  There is something for everyone, that's for sure.  And you know, I love it all! lol.

Our Current Challenge is everyone's favorite - Anything Goes!  There are some great prizes to be won, so now is the chance to upload those fabulous cards and projects you have been making!

We just got back from my son's Open House.  It was good to meet his teacher and see where he spends his days.  He is thinking about running for vice president of the school this year, and he is quite popular.  I was texting my Grandson's teacher this morning.  Seems Mr. Reed did not feel like doing Math today.  So we finished up the last of our homework, went over the spelling words for tomorrow and read through his two little reading books.  While listening to the Violin Practise in the background. And then I read a book to him for a half hour and it was off to bed.  Wow, this feels like the longest day ever, lol.  All that was after my 10 hour shift.

I hope to get some inky time in this weekend.  I was able to work on a card with a bit of different edge to my style, I will show it to you on Tuesday!  I hope to get around to everyone's blog and see what you all have been up to as well.

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments.

Swinging in Retro

Hello Friends and Stampers!

Welcome to a new Challenge over at Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog!  It's the first of the month favorite - Anything Goes!   And that means anything, so come and join us and you could win a fabulous prize, or two!

I begged Laura to get these cute Prima Mixed Media Dolls in the store and then I snatched up a half dozen of them.  She sent me of the Doll Tags with a note, "you are going to need these!"  OMGosh she was so right!  These things are huge! lol.   This one is 9 inches long and a little over 3 inches wide.  So they stayed in the box for a while and this past weekend I decided since I had the weekend off and I had seen some really cute designs in blogland using them, that I would ink one up.  I had to use the largest Acrylic that S.U. had in a set I bought and then lay it sideways, lol.  But it inked up perfect.  After I colored her skin and chose the paper I was going to use, I started having too much fun.  As I was designing the tag, I began thinking of other ways I would use the others.  Wouldn't you know it, but I made another one with a different doll right afterwards, lol.  I LOVE them and they are so much easier to use than I originally thought.  It's like playing paper dolls all over again.  It's like playing my own project runway, lol.  I inked up the skirt again and cut out three of the pleats, colored the original with one of my Copics for shading and then popped up with bottom of the pleat with dimensionals and put a dab of glue on the top of the pleat so that only the bottoms were popped up, (I saw Lisa do this.)

I have some 12 by 12 paper, but it's just as easy to use my 6X6 paper and use a different sheet for half.  I have tons and tons of ribbon and lace for the middle, lol.  So after running away from them after I saw them, now I have to stop using them! lol.  At least for now.  Let me know what you think!  My Son was wondering why I didn't draw a face on her, lol.  I know these were made for mixed media, but I like using them conventionally.  With this one, I used some of my stashed Vintage Vogue and finally broke into the stickers that I bought to go with them.  LOVE IT!

This tag is going to my Grandson's new teacher.  Speaking of my Grandson, Reed, guess who is learning to read?  Despite all the protest he puts up before we get started, we have prevailed and now even he is proud of the reading he can do.  He told me, "Grandma, I memorized this story!"  But I pointed out that he couldn't have memorized too much if he was still having trouble with a couple of the words.  I explained to him that just because you remember what a word is, doesn't mean you are not reading, it means you are reading!  And we plan to do this EVERYDAY!

My son, Jeep, is learning the violin and he has been practising every day.  He is starting to figure out how to get the notes right and while most of it is screech, screech, screech, there are a few beautiful notes in between, lol.

Be sure to take a look at the New Items!

I hope you will join us in welcoming our new design team members and saying good-bye to some seriously talented ones.  Check out our Sunday Blog Hop!

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments.
